A fisheye lens with a 180º angle of view, the Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8 ED AF DX Fisheye has everything you want if you’re looking to add artistic distortion to your photos. Although especially useful when shooting sports, cityscapes, landscapes, your only limit is your imagination.
You’ll be able to get close to your subject thanks to a 1.2-inch minimum focusing distance, and Nikon’s Close-Range Correction system ensures consistency throughout the focusing range. The f/2.8 aperture gives you the flexibility to shoot in less than optimal conditions, and its rounded blades give out of focus aspects a more natural feel.
This lens is constructed of 10 elements divided into seven groups, including one extra-low dispersion element and one aspherical element to take care of chromatic and spherical aberrations. Each element is covered in the Super Integrated Coating, which virtually eliminates lens flare and ghosting, even in bright and backlight. The built-in petal-shaped lens hood protects the lens and further reduces flare.
Autofocus is fast and accurate, but only available when using Nikon DSLRs that have an autofocus motor. If you’re shooting with Nikon’s D3000-series, D5000-series, D40, D40X, and D60, you’ll be able to use this lens with manual focus. It’s compatible with rear drop-in gelatin filters.
